HONEY BUNNY

‘Say no word, let the party go on. Let’s twirl along with the world. A worn vinyl record is playing a long forgotten hit. Give me this night. This one night!’ – these were the lines of a popular Polish pop song. Nevertheless, a barrier arose between Staszek and Alinka and their intimacy vanished with the passing of time. He locks himself in a shed with his rabbits and sorrows, while she enjoys relaxing baths. Everything changes when Alinka takes up the work of a hugger at Honey Bunny salon. Such a simple gesture as a hug lowers the level of cortisol and blood pressure, increases resistance and self-esteem. In the protagonists’ marriage, it causes a revolution and forces them, in particular more reserved Staszek, to confront their feelings and desires. ‘Honey Bunny’ is subtle cinema that hugs the viewer with care and allows him to feel better. To achieve this purpose, it is assisted by such actors as Artur Barciś, who plays Staszek, and Alina Chechelska, who was cast as Alinka.
